Established to commemorate the Life, Death, Dedication to Service and Love of God of Sir Knight Albert H. Canfield and to honor the Knights of Roanoke Council 562 whose efforts through the “Keep Christ in Christmas – Send Religious Cards” program have made these funds available.
An applicant, to be considered, must be a member of Council 562, the wife of a member, or the legally recognized child of a member provided that the member is in good standing, or if deceased, was in good standing at the time of death.
Decisions on approving scholarships are determined by the “Scholarship Committee” duly elected by the members of Council 562 in addition to the currently serving Grand Knight. Applications will be considered based on past academic performance, financial need, and a demonstrated dedication to service in the community or church. All applications must be received by April 1st and must be accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s most recent transcript showing classes taken and grades obtained. Transcript does not have to be an official copy. Applications received after the cut off date or applications received incomplete will not be considered. Because of limited funds only ten $500 scholarships can be awarded thus not all applications can be granted. The decisions of the committee are unanimous and final.
